Keep reading Northerners talking about Dallas shutting down after “2 inches of snow.” Well, it’s not the snow that’s the problem. Right now it’s 18 degrees F and there is about 1.5 inches of smooth-as-glass ice over most of the roads at least here in East Dallas. I braved the dangerous roads — and even…

SNOW DAY!!! DISD cancels…my job cancels.
Wayne Jarrett — CHIP IN (1982)
Tough Roots Radics riddims and the floating, ethereal vocal stylings of Wayne Jarrett make CHIP IN (1982) not only a classic and key entry in the Jamaican music canon but a damn fine listen to nearly 30 years on. The Junjo Lawes production also boasts some of the worst LP art in Reggae. Maybe not…

Who really knows the depth and breadth of this mess? Most can probably agree the U.S. economy has lost a prime mover — our biggest…
More Foundation Rockers – Tues, Sept 21st — Lee Harvey’s
More JA madness in Big D. This time DJ Diamond Age and I will be spinning at Lee Harvey’s at 1807 Gould St in Dallas, TX. We’ll probably go on around 9pm and spin vinyl until 2am. No admission and I think they’re having 1/2 burgers. Not exactly ital, but hey…We’ll also be celebrating the…
